Aebleskivers or “stuffed” pancakes, are usually stuffed with apples, can also be stuffed with cheese, meat, chocolate chips or jam.  Experiment with different fillings and flavors to discover your families favorite Ebelskivers.  For those who prefer cast iron, the Norpro Deluxe Munk Aebleskiver Panwill be the pan for you.  Cast iron heats up slowly and evenly for some of the best cooking there is.  The first thing to do is to season the pan properly by oiling or greasing the pan including the wells, heat, remove from stove and let cool down slowly.  Wipe clean with paper towel or dry cloth.  You may want to repeat these steps until the cast iron pan is nice and seasoned so your stuffed pancakes don’t stick.

Lastly this little Norpro Danish Aebleskiver Pan is made of cast iron and very reasonable at just about $10 each.  They would make great gifts for the holidays, wedding shower gifts or for someone “who has everything”.  Just like the Norpro Deluxe Munk Aebleskiver Pan, this pan needs to be pre-seasoned, then you can make wonderful stuffed ebelskiver pancakes with this pan.  It is a bit smaller, only 6″ in diameter with 2″ deep wells, but just put a little less batter in the wells to produce the same quality ebelskivers.  Since it is smaller, it will take longer to make up a batch of ebelskiver pancakes with this pan.
